Leadership, Growth, Promotion and Pathways for all Pickleball players throughout Aotearoa New Zealand

Why Join PNZA?

1. Safeguard Pickleball’s Identity

Without a strong, independent PNZA, other sports (like tennis) might absorb Pickleball as a side project.  Membership strengthens our national voice and preserves our sport’s unique identity.

2. Building a Strong National Structure

Every major sport in New Zealand (Rugby, Tennis, Cricket, Netball, etc) has a national body overseeing rules, competitions, coaching standards, and player pathways. PNZA gives pickleball the same backbone, ensuring:

  • National competitions are well organised
  • Coaching standards are consistent
  • Referees and officials are properly trained
  • Clear pathways for beginners, juniors, and advanced players
  • PNZA ensures reliability, fairness, and opportunity across every club / playing group

3.  Funding & Government Recognition

Only recognised national bodies are eligible for Sport NZ grants, council funding, or access to new facilities.  Your paid membership helps PNZA demonstrate legitimacy and growth opening doors for everyone.  Being a financial member helps show funding organisations that Pickleball is legit, growing, and worth investing in.

4. Fuel Sport Growth & Sponsorship

PNZA’s reach enables:

  • National level sponsors and brand partners
  • TV streaming opportunities
  • Clubs / Schools Council partnerships
  • Nationwide event calendar coordination

5. Best Practice & Standards

Members get access to PNZA developed initiatives and resources.  We provide help to affiliated clubs with governance tools, model constitutions, and volunteer support.

6. Reliable Dispute Resolution

From scoring debates to misconduct investigations, PNZA acts as an adjudicator protecting players’ interests and reputation of the sport.

7. Compete on a World Stage

We help put New Zealand on the international stage by:

  • Selecting and managing national teams
  • Coordinating travel, uniforms, and global regulations
  • Registering as a Country Member to continental federations (Oceania Pickleball Federation OPF) and global federations (Global Pickleball Federation GPF)

8. Be Part of the Decision-Making

This is your sport and your voice counts.  Members help shape policies, suggest new events, court facilities and elect PNZA leadership.  It's collective power fuelling Pickleball’s future in Aotearoa.

From beginner to pro and everyone in between PNZA membership means Pickleball thrives in NZ, thank you for supporting PNZA.
