​​​​​​​PNZA is excited to announce the 2025 Open World Cup Team travelling to Florida, USA to represent Aotearoa in the 2025 Pickleball World Cup on 27 Oct to 2 Nov 2025.  Congratulations to all the successful players.  We know you are going to represent NZ with professionalism, dedication, passion and sportsmanship on the international stage - Let’s Go!!!  Open Team: Conor Robertshawe (Captain), Jordan Halliday, Tristan Stayt, Andy van der Vyver, Lizzie Brady, Izzy Jacobs, Brittany Yang, Chris Palmer has been appointed as the Team Coach and Dylan Infield has been appointed as the Team Coordinator.

New Zealand Team bows out in 2025 World Cup Quarterfinals with Pride

Our New Zealand Pickleball Team’s inspiring run at the 2025 Pickleball World Cup has come to an end after a hard-fought quarterfinal loss to Hong Kong after finishing second place of the 68 teams after pool play.  The final results are USA taking gold, Hong Kong taking silver and Portugal taking bronze.  The New Zealand team had a thrilling quarterfinal round against Hong Kong, the Kiwi players showed grit, teamwork and spirit, pushing their opponents to the limit in several close matches. Every one of our players left everything on court.  We are proud of how the team represented Aotearoa, not just in how they played, but in how they supported one another throughout the tournament, and all the support from home.  Pickleball New Zealand Association Chairperson, Ange Brady, commented "to finish among the top eight nations is a fantastic achievement two years in a row.  I would like to personally thank everyone involved with the team throughout our Pickleball community".  Acknowledgement to Conor Robertshawe for captaining the team, all the Open Team players Jordan Halliday, Tristan Stayt, Andy van der Vyver, Lizzie Brady, Izzy Jacobs, Brittany Yang, Chris Palmer as the Team Coach and Dylan Infield as the Team Coordinator.  The 2025 Pickleball World Cup has featured 68 delegations from across the globe competing for the sport’s premier international title. For New Zealand, the journey has strengthened international relationships and highlighted the talent emerging from clubs nationwide. 

Conor Robertshawe Claims Men’s Singles Open (All Ages) Gold Medal at the 2025 World Cup Pre-Tournament

New Zealand's Pickleball Team Captain, Conor Robertshawe, has taken out the gold medal in the Men’s Singles Open (All Ages) division at the 2025 World Cup Pre-Tournament, showcasing outstanding skill, composure, and athleticism on the international stage. Facing a strong field of elite players, Conor delivered a series of commanding performances throughout the draw, demonstrating the depth of New Zealand talent as preparations continue for the upcoming 2025 Pickleball World Cup. His victory is a testament to his dedication and the growing standard of competitive Pickleball across Aotearoa and thanks to Team New Zealand, both at the event and back home for supporting Conor. Congratulations, Conor, on an exceptional performance and a well earned gold medal!

Silver Shine for Tristan Stayt and Chris Palmer at 2025 World Cup Pre-Tournament

Tristan and Chris captured the silver medal in the Men’s Doubles 5.0 (age 35+) division at the 2025 World Cup Pre-Tournament. The team impressed with their energy, connection, and determination on court, showing sportsmanship and spirit. Their teamwork carried them through a series of tightly contested matches, culminating in a well deserved place on the podium. Their success is a proud moment for the New Zealand Pickleball community and a fantastic lead into the 2025 Pickleball World Cup in Florida, where they’ll join teammates representing Aotearoa on the world stage. 

Quarterfinal Finish for Conor Robertshawe and Jordan Halliday at 2025 World Cup Pre-Tournament

Conor and Jordan have delivered strong performances on the international stage, both reaching the quarterfinals of the Men’s Open Singles (All Ages) division at the 2025 Pickleball World Cup Pre-Tournament.  In a remarkable coincidence, Conor and Jordan were also knocked out by the eventual gold medal winners of their division in hard-fought, high-intensity matches that showcased their teamwork, skill, grit, and competitive spirit. The team finished third in the division after pool play, winning their Round 16 game and then getting knocked out of the quarterfinals.  Their performances earned respect from other players and spectators at the event and supporters from home, highlighting not just their individual talent, but the growing strength of New Zealand Pickleball at the elite level.  Well done Conor and Jordan for your outstanding efforts, professionalism, and pride in representing Aotearoa on the world stage. 

Quarterfinal Finish for Brittany Yang Stayt at 2025 World Cup Pre-Tournament Women's Open Singles (All Ages)

​​​​​​​Brittany has once again shown her class and composure on the international stage, reaching the quarterfinals at the 2025 Pickleball World Cup Pre-Tournament.  Brittany battled through a competitive draw before falling to the eventual gold medal winner of the division in a spirited and high-quality match. Her tenacity and fearless play against some of the world’s top-ranked players earned admiration from players and spectators at home.  Brittany’s performance reflects the growing caliber of the New Zealand players competing internationally. Her focus, humility, and dedication continue to inspire the next generation of Pickleball players.  Well done, Brittany, your determination and sportsmanship are a true credit to Aotearoa. 

2024 Pickleball World Cup in Lima, Peru

​​​​​​​PNZA sent two representative teams to Lima, Peru to play in the 2024 Pickleball World Cup on 26-27 October 2024.  Open Team: Matt Carter (Co-Captain), Will Dewhirst (Co-Captain), Conor Robertshawe, Caitlin Carter, Michaela Winiata, Lizzie Brady (reserve).  50+ Team: Shane Wilson (Captain), Jeremy Pearson, Rico del Rosario (reserve), Annie Hawaikirangi, Justine Delport, Goretti Sua (reserve)


Results from the 2024 Pickleball World Cup:

The New Zealand Open Team were unfortunately knocked out in the quarter finals from the 32 countries that competed.  The New Zealand Senior (50+) Team finished with a silver medal, 2nd in the World from the 22 countries that competed.  They were also awarded as the Best Delegation in the senior competition, and Most Valueable Player (MVP) was awarded to Justine Delport for her team spirit, sportmanship and performance during the event.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
